Burley School is a Literacy, Writing, and Technology Magnet School on the north side of Chicago. This school strives to provide students across grade levels with up-to-date access to new technologies that are managed and facilitated by teachers following best practices in education. Many classrooms currently have one-to-one access to iPads or laptop computers. However, the preschool classroom does not. Students in preschool participate in inquiry based, student-initiated projects throughout the school year, such as an investigation of animals and their habitats and life changes in the winter or how plants grow and change over time. As students engage in the inquiry process of asking questions and researching new information, they need access to print and digital images and videos. Teachers also document student learning through recorded conversations, photographs, and videos of student work in progress. This fundraiser would provide 5 iPad minis for the preschool classroom to support their inquiry learning and other large and small group work.

I enjoy working with children in the preschool age and documenting their growth across the domains: cognitively, linguistically, mathematically, physically, creatively, socially, and emotionally. I also enjoy working with parents, discussing child development, and supporting the whole family.
