The entire lesson is done in Spanish. 1)A basic vocabulary is presented based on a given topic, for example, "In a restaurant". 2) Students study the vocabulary, and then read a dialogue presented to them in text using the vocabulary. 3)Next, they answer in complete sentences questions based on this conversation. 4)They then choose their partners to prepare their own original dialogue for presentation to the class. The teacher corrects any grammatical errors before presentation the next day. 5)The presentation is given and students are graded on memorization, pronunciation and presentation. Props and costumes are encouraged to make the presentation more entertaining for the class. |

With the digital camera equipment the students can immediately see and hear their presentation and learn where there is need for improvement and also see what they have accomplished through their own efforts. When they see their conversational abiities, they understand that learning a foreign language is within their reach and strive to learn more. This viewing not only helps the students who are presenting their dialogues but it gives the rest of the class practice hearing and understanding spoken Spanish. |
