Objective:Students will work in groups to design and create a
digital museum.
Motivation:Computers,digital cameras
Materials:Computers,digital cameras,list of online sites,paper,pencils,experience chart paper,markers
Procedure:Children will discuss their last visit to a museum.We will then visit the following online:MOMA,Museum Of Natural History.After the visit I will ask for a definition of the word museum.We will compare and contrast via a venn diagram of an online visit and a regular museum visit.We will talk about the importance of an art collection.Students will then,in teams,walk around the school.They will take digital pictures of bulletin boards,works in progress,etc.When returning to the room we will write a report about what we observed.We will download our pictures and attach our report.
In a followup lesson we will research famous museums,e.g.Tate Museum,Louvre,etc.
After finishing this project which will take about 2 weeks we will use our research and imaging to design and create a pop
up book about Museums.
