Anticipatory Set: Describe and show basic 3 dimensional shapes (cubes, cylinders, cones, rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, spheres) around the classroom, e.g., globes are spheres, dice are cubes, etc.
Then walk students around the school while they silently find other examples of these shapes.

Participatory Set: Send students in groups of 2 with cameras to take pictures of these shapes. Print pictures and create a book of the best (most original) pictures from each group.
