Keywords: PICTURE TIMELINES
Subject(s): Math, Social Studies, Technology, Photography
Grades K through 5
School: Burnsville Elementary School, Burnsville, NC
Planned By: Riddle
Original Author: Mrs. Riddle, Burnsville
Our goal will be to learn about timelines. Students would take pictures all day. This would start at 8 am (school starts)and end at 2:45 (school ends). Students would have to work as partners to take pictures of the other student. Students would also keep a journal of what times and activiteis they were doing during the taking of that picture. After a day of taking pictures we would develop them using our one class computer and print them. Each student would then write the time on the back of the picture unless I could find programable cameras. We would then create a timeline using string and clothes pins. This lesson incorporates math, social studies, photography and technology.
Comments
This is a cross curriculum plan that would motivate any child to learn about dates, times, and how wonderful technology is.
Follow-Up
I would use the cameras weekly for science experiments, and it would help to teach vocabulary, definitions to all my students in language arts.
