Read and Record using Podcasting

I would love to use the podcasting kit to allow the students in my classroom to record themselves reading. Every child in my classroom reads with me during guided reading each day. I will allow the child to select their favorite book from the week and practice reading the story.

When the child feels confident, we will use the podcasting tool kit and allow the child to record themeselves reading the story. The children can immediately listen to themselves reading the book. This is important improve their reading confidence and it will improve fluency as well.

I will put all of the recorded podcasts on the classroom website so the families can listen to their child and the other children in our classroom read the stoires. What an accomplishment for the students!

By putting the podcasts on the website, the parents will have an online digital portfolio of their child's reading growth in kindergarten.
