Each student will be assigned a partner to work through the following topics with. The students not only need to access websites to obtain information, but also need to complete an art project and worksheets to go along with the lesson.

As fourth graders, they are getting great at working with technology and they loved this assessment. It took two days of Science time to complete.

Biomes/Ecosystems

Choose 3 of the 6 Biomes of the World and complete the following table.

Food Chains

1) Visit ecokids.ca/pub/eco_info/topics/frogs/chain_reaction/index.cfm>a.Play the Chain Reaction game
b. Create both the Northern Food Chain and the Forest Food Chain
c. Create ONE of the food chains on construction paper (remember the arrows and the correct direction of the arrows)

a. Complete the reading passage
b. Complete the labeling of the parts of the water cycle
c. Check your answers
d. Go to the top left hand corner – print your paper
e. Go to the printer, get your paper and put your name on it – Hand it in when ALL Activities are done

5) Complete the Water Cycle worksheet

Erosion

1) Watch the video on Mrs. Bearup’s computer and answer the quiz.

2) Write a paragraph stating how erosion changes the land over a period of time.

3) Complete the Weathering and Erosion worksheet.

After completion of all activities, please access the digital voice recorder and record your thoughts about this project and at least one item from each area that you learned. We will be posting your recording to the class blog for everyone to listen and comment on.
