poetry remembrance books

After studying the elements of poetry and several published poems in varying styles,etc., I assign a poetry project. This is a notebook which is dedicated to a special person in the student's life. each selection in the book must be reflective of the person to whom it is dedicated--that is, their personality, hobbies,relationship,etc.

Students search the internet for appropriate selections and illustrtaions. The cover of the book is also a creative expression, uniquely made for their person of choice.

For this project, students need access to a computer with internet capability. Our small rural school has only 1 computer lab with 25 computers and vying for sign up time in the lab is fiercely competitive.

We could use laptops or more computers. Our student body is 60 % freee and/or reduced lunches, so we do not have the means to make this purchase.
