Keywords: Communication, photos, tangible
Subject(s): English/Language Arts, Special Needs
Grades 3 through 5
School: Horace Mann Elementary School, Anaheim, CA
Planned By: Kelli Colombo
Original Author: Kelli Colombo, Anaheim
Items:
2 preferred food items
2 clear boxes (empty cassette containers or sewing boxes)
digital photo of the two preferred food items

Place one food item in each container. Put both boxes in front of the child. Then, hand the student a photo of one of the items in front of him. Ask him/her to put with same. The child then places the digital photo on or near the item in the box. The child is then given the item that is in the bo as a reinforcer.

This plan helps students to learn to discriminate items and also learn that the digital photos presented represent the desired items in front of them.
Comments
