Frog Dissection Page Views: 163

Day 1: The students are briefed on lab safety. I use a projector and camera to show how to use each of the dissection tools. I pass out a list of structures the students have to know for the practical assessment. I show a brief video on how to do the initial incisions to open the frog. (This video will be on a loop on my TV for the students to watch during the dissection.) I put an already dissected frog under the camera and show them 8-10 structures. The students get their frogs, 1 frog for a group of 2. They have to make the proper incisions and identify the structures. When they are finished, they clean up and put the frogs in a bucket to be used another day. (Approx. 42 min.) |
