Goal: Students will develop an informational interview.

Objective: After participating in a class discussion on how to do a fact-finding interview, the students will develop a set of questions to ask during their interviews.

CBC: M/J Broadcast Communications B-1
Students will receive daily writing instruction to prepare scripts for broadcast

Activities:
• Discuss what is an informational interview
• Discuss different types of questioning techniques
• Divide students into groups of two.
• Students will work together to develop a set of interview questions.
• Students will practice how to record interviews using the digital video cameras prior to conducting interviews. If digital video cameras are not available, this could be substituted by digital cameras and audio recording device.
• Students will interview staff members, and record their interviews.

Home Learning
Students will read the newspaper or view television news program for 30 minutes and be ready to discuss what they read/viewed next class period.
