Keywords: foreign language, Spanish, photo-stories
Subject(s): Technology, Foreign Language
Grades 6 through 8
School: Beaufort Middle School, Beaufort, SC
Planned By: Farides Lopez
Original Author: Farides Lopez, Beaufort
This project applies to any of the main topics a foreign language teacher usually teaches in Spanish I or it could also be used as an end of the year activity.

Procedures:
First students are asked to write a short dialogue or skit using vocabulary, functions and grammatical points learned in a chapter of their choice. For example, the dialogs could be about situations at a restaurant, at the supermarket, at the doctor's or on the first day of class.

Next, students will shoot pictures of the different scenes that apply to their dialogs. In other words, they will act out the situations and other students will be shooting pictures. I usually encourage my students to make it as close to reality as possible. Therefore, they will dress up and bring any necessary artifacts that enhance their settings.

After the pics are shot, they are downloaded, and with the help of Microsoft Photo Story 3, students add voice/ sound to the scenes using the skits they previously wrote down. That is, students narrate what is going on in each scene.
Comments
Instead of using Microsoft Photo Story, students could use Windows Movie Maker and create small video-skits.
