1. Each student will have their own iPod in the classroom(I teach a self-contained behavior classroom so I only have 8-10 students). This is for sanitary reasons and for fairness amongst students.

2. I will upload student-selected audio books onto iPods.

3. Students will listen to iPods during silent reading time while following along with text. This will help with tracking words and allow students to read above their ability level.

4. As a behavior incentive, I will allow students to take iPods home in order to promote responsibility and home reading.

5. iPods will be primarily kept in the classroom and used for next year's students, though new headphones may need to be purchased. Fortunately, I will have many of my students for three years because I teach third, fourth, and fifth grade.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
iPods can also be used for podcasting to enhance oral reading fluency.
