Following a study of (fairytale) literature, students will work in small groups to create stories/fairytales of their own. The characters they develop will be made as puppets.
After practing puppetry, voices, and characterization, these groups of students will turn their stories into puppet plays to perform for younger students.
As the performance is both videotaped and photographed, involved students can follow-up on their work by making a picture book to coordinate with the show, as well as an edited video compilation of the various groups' performances.
The books can be submitted for publication, and copies of these, along with the video, can be submitted to the school library as well as the classes performed for.
