Before the trip: Students would check out equipment such as digital cameras and handheld camcorders to learn to use in the classroom. The smallest children would be able to at least point and shoot or choose what to take a photo of. The teacher would download images to show on the SMART board for students to write about, discuss, publish and share as practice for the trip. Websites from the trip locations could be access so that decisions can be made about what and how to record experiences.

During the trip: Classrooms that are going on field trips would check out digital cameras and handheld recorders to document their trip. Multiple cameras would be needed so that all children could have an opportunity to operate them.

After the trip: This is where the "foto" fun would really happen! Students, along with teacher guidance, would download the images for sharing. Our teachers are trained in SMARTboard Notebook, and other photo sharing software. Our computers also have Movie Maker. The teachers would have many choices on how in-depth they could go with the photos and video clips. They could also be shown on our school news show!
