Class One: This starts with an introduction of the program, expectations and student behavior. This class is the Introduction to Energy, Motion, and Wind. Students will make observations of the wind. We will read information about energy and wind. How wind is formed. Forms of energy. Students will make a wind indicator with ribbon and dowels.

Class Two: Exploring Energy From Wind. Students will make pinwheels with four or three blades. We will then compare their efficiency at capturing the wind, and then look at how wind can do work . Students will do some parts in groups. Other parts will be class demonstrations.

Class Three: Energy from the wind. Students will work in pairs to make a whirligig. The whirligig is made from some recycled materials which include a one liter soda bottle, a hanger, and a plastic lid. The whirligig acts like a weather vane. The wind will catch it, move it, and spin it.

Class Four: Work on Whirligigs continues. Students that finish can read material on wind power and do the wind power quiz. Students can check quiz answers at teachers desk. There will be other puzzles if students finish the above activities and materials.

Class Five: Building an Electric Generator and a Play about Wind. Some students will be learning the parts for the play Harry Spotter and the "Chamber of Windy Myths" for next week. They will observe the building of the generator and all the students will get a change to see how it works. Students may make props as needed for the play or bring them from home next week.

Class Six: Building and Electric Generator continues If not finished. Students will get a chance to use the generator. Students will read/act out the play: Harry Spotter and the "Chamber of Windy Myths." The class will discuss the play. We will also have a discussion on their experiences in the six week program. They can talk about what they learned, what they want to know more about, what they liked and did not like, and any thing else about the class.
