The assignment consists in reporting an appealing story from your home school, document it, interview at least two people involved in the story and than place it in your Blog. The story has to be documented using 3 media that we used all year long. 1. Video, 2. Audio, 3. Text. The class then will post comments on your story from a blog in which the story will be posted on.

Choosing the story: Schools are filled with interesting stories that can be reported and shared with the rest of the school. Stories are easy to find, just ask around, read the school news paper, read the daily bulletin, ask teachers about exceptional stories from students, ask councilors, visit your Special Ed class and talk to the teachers, etc.

# 1: Fill out a Proposal for the "Podcast" to be reviewd by your teacher. the proposal should include.

Short synopsis about the report you are planning to write about.

What do you expect the audience to learn by watching or reading the assignment?



Style and Format
A program can often be presented in a number of different styles. Please select from the following list, indicating the style you would like your program to take. If you do not have any specific preferences at this stage, then we will suggest a suitable style within our proposal.

• Documentary (informative program with a voice-over narration accompanying the visuals)

• Lecture (visuals, usually with narration or presenter)

• Magazine (Presenter(s) provide information in different sections, in a lively and informal style)

• News (Presenter(s) provide information on different topics, in a formal style)

# 3 Reporting: Gather as much facts as possible, interview at least two people involved in the story, for the video report or the podcast, interview two additional people and ask their opinion on the event or issue.

#4 Article: Write a appealing introduction to the story in order to get the attention of the reader. the story should be mo less than 250 words and no more than 400.

#5 Podcasting: Create a 1:30 to 2:00 podcast on the story with the additional interviews and comments. Use your article as a reference for the podcast story.

#6 Blog: Add the article, podcast and pictures you have taken regarding the story and blog it. create an appealing page with an appropriate title for the blog.

#7 Read and Comment: Read all the comments you receive on your Blog and write a one page paper with your reflections. In addition you will have to go and read at least five other Blogs from students in our class and place comments on their Stories.
