.Discussion with students about the type of "Community of Caring" project they would like to participate in.
.Selecting Student/Nursing Home Client
.Contacts made with nursing home director
.Information Fact sheets developed by director so students could make their selections.
.Parents involved and permission granted for students to visit the local nursing home.
.Face to face meetings with students/resident. Information exchanged, ideas shared, etc.
.Contacts maintained with phone calls and emails
Follow up visits to the home to help formulate the visual projects and web pages that students were developing over the lives of these residents. Also, used outside family pictures and articles to enhance the residents separate projects.
.Once the projects were completed, a luncheon was hosted by the nursing home to honor students/residents for their collective work and completed projects were handed to the residents. Some family members had to accept the projects as some residents died during the school year. It was a great honor to be able to chronical the lives of these amazing individuals.
