2nd grade Memory Book Journal

The objective of this lesson is for students to make a year-long scrapbook using photographs and journal wrting entries. Students will use the writing process to create the entries that they will use in their scrapbooks. Entries will be made in a bi-weekly basis, in order to allow for conference weeks, vacation days and teacher inservice days. Students will evaluate their writing, using a rubric, in order to determine which entries will be added to their scrapbook journal. Students will use a digital camera to take pictures that will go into their scrapbook journal, and they will determine which pictures they will place in their journal. Students will use a computer to type their entries and use different fonts and colors to help them personalize their entries. Students will enhance their keyboarding skills by using the computer to type their entries.
