Students have learned the levels of organization and cell types. They now know that these cell types make up different tissues and that tissues a variety of tissues make up the organs. We are going one step further and learning the names of each of the systems and their function. Next students will learn the specifics about the systems. -Students will work collaboratively. Students will work in groups of 4. 4 class periods. 50 Min. per class. -Students will study the chart on page 515 of text book (any chart with the names and functions of all of the systems) -Student will pick a show tune or nursery rhyme that will be the basis for their song. -Students will make up lyrics with the name of the body systems in it and an allusion to the systems function. -Students will make up and practice dance steps to go with their song. -Students will record and edit their songs to play back at open house. -Students will perform their songs for the class. *RSP/EL: Makes a poem or story using the chart or can be responsible for a certain number of body systems instead of all 11
