Students will complete a variety of lessons, labs and research on energy and energy consuption. Students will map population by continent and add resource consumption for each region. They will then be asked the following: How are we currently meeting the needs of the populations? Can we sustain our current level of living? How do you propose we continue to meet the demands of current and future populations? o They will test themselves to find out their ecological footprint- and that of their family- They will look at the resources here on Earth versus the needs of the population and the importance of conservation. Students will create a before and after picture brochure (based on their ecolgical footprint test) of practices that harm and save the environment.They will use pictures that they took around the community. •Students will develop one of the following: an individual energy action plan for themselves and their family, an editorial to be sent to the local newspaper, a commercial to be played on the school broadcast (closed circuit), or a podcast, covering the importance of energy conservation and how individuals can make a significant difference.
