Around the World at Murrayville -newspaper

Third, fourth and fifth grade students will meet weekly to publish a school newspaper.
September 11,2009 - Students will apply to compose the newpaper.
September 18, 2009- Essays are due and the SAGE and Technology teacher will read and nominate students for the newspaper.
September 25, 2009 -Students will meet to brainstorm what articles will go into the newspaper and discuss deadlines.
October 2, 2009 - December 11, 2009(every Friday) - Students will publish articles and submit to teachers for final approval.
December 15th- Newspaper goes to a local newspaper company for final printing on newsprint.
December 18, 2009 - Copies of the newspaper are sent home with each child before Christmas break.

January 8, 2010 - we will begin the same process over again to publish a newspaper for May.

Articles will be related to school events, spotlighting students, test taking hints and tips, crossword puzzle, etc.
