Demonstrate:
Using an LCD projector, demonstrate the homework assignment to the students. Allow them to choose the captions and word bubbles for the cartoon so it is a class collaborated project.
Using a prepared overhead sheet with an original printed cartoon, demonstrate highlighting adjective and underlining articles.
Call on students to highlight or underline.

Homework or lab work:
Go to the website www.readwritethink.org
Select the comic creator (Apple computers have a comic creator)
Create an original 6 panel comic using an adjective in each sentence.
After printing the comic, highlight each adjective and underline articles

After doing this activity once, I have had students go back and use the comic creator for fun and they make sure to put in good adjectives!
