Grades 9 through 12
School: Monarch High School, Louisville, CO
Planned By: Melissa Duplechin
Original Author: Melissa Duplechin, Louisville
Teachers will create Spanish grammar vodcasts to aid in instruction of all grammatical concepts for high school classes ranging from level one through level five. These vodcasts will include audio and video explanations of each grammar concept by the teacher, along with Power Points, charts, songs, diagrams, notes, etc.

Students will be responsible for listening/watching the vodcasts as homework before arriving to class. This will allow more time for questioning, comprehension, and guided practice during class time (instead of tradtionally listening to a lecture in class and practicing as homework).

The benefits for students are as follows:
-There will be 24 hour access to the lecture/content
-Allows for differentiated learning. Some students will only need to listen/watch once, while others can watch multiple times and even pause at difficult concepts.
-Students who are absent will not miss the lecture portion of class and will not fall as far behind.
-Teachers who teach multiple sections of a class will not have to worry about forgetting to teach details to every class.
-When time for the test over the grammar concept, students will have access to the lecture with which to study.
-Students will work on the practice assignments during class, giving them access to the teacher for one-on-one help and therefore the practice will contain less mistakes.
-Since our department plans to work on these vodcasts as a group, students will also have access to multiple accents and teaching styles and perspectives.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This could be done with any content area's curriculum.
Follow-Up
The vodcasts will be published on our school website, and CDs/DVDs will be given to those students who do not have access to the Internet.
