Students will be instructed on the componants of an ecosystem.

To further student understanding of all the different parts of an ecosystem-including the biotic and abiotic elements, students will create a visual presentation of a selected habitat. Within their presentation the students will research the specific animals and plants that are found in their habitat using internet and library resources. They will also identify the specific abiotic factors that are found in that area. Students must also identify any specific organisms that are vulnerable or endangered in their area. The students will also identify any hazardous substances that are in the area.

Students will then travel to an example of their habitat and take photographs and possibly gather samples to be shared during their presentation.

Students will use the computer microscope to display specimens during their presentations of their photostory.
