Intended Learning Outcomes:
Introduction to CAD a first exposure- Tutorial to the CAD-STD Lite computer program.
1. CAD Vocabulary.
2. CAD Commnications.
3. Computer Program Basic set-up.
4. Drawing basic geometric shapes with a computer.
Instructional Procedures: Demonstration and discussion
1. Computer driven Demo on screen with digital projection.
2. Followed with written step by step instructions of the demonstration steps.
3. Guided practice.
4. Lesson Vocabulary review-- CAD commands and coordinates, angles,pick points, Zoom window, Zoom all, Settings/dimensions, Paper settings, Grid Size, Offsets, Text Type, Save Settings, Geometric Shapes, lines, rectangles, circles, ellipse, triangles, polygons, hexagons
Assessment Plan:
1. Pictures of actual drawings of assigned geometric shapes reviewed on screen and/or printed to hard copy.
2. The students will create a PowerPoint presentation in teams of two describing the process using CAD vocabulary
