Materials: digital still cameras, laptop computers, photo story software, headset microphones and projection or flat screen monitors.

This is a new exploratory class which will have about 20 students each four weeks. Students will be taught and be able to demonstrate the basics of photography; camera operation, composition, exposure and focus. Students will receive instruction in and practice shooting static objects and moving objects. Students will download imagery onto a laptop computer. Students will be taught how to crop and adjust imagery within ethical boundaries. Students will use imaging software to crop and adjust imagery as required. Students will be taught the basics of visual story telling. Students will be instructed on proper speaking technique for digital recording. Students will be taught to use photostory software. Students will be instructed concerning proper use of school cameras and given an assingment for homework. Students will collect imagery around the school and their home town over night and a weekend that best represents their school and home town and ho the two come together. Students will download imagery. Students will create a photo story project using the imagery they collected.
Stories will be displayed in class and select stories that best represent the ineraction between our school and communities will be displayed on the front hall monitor for visitors to view.
