Learning about Book Parts Page Views: 389
|
Students have been exposed to parts of books in the classroom and the media center needs to reinforce the concept. The media specialist explains the various parts of a book like: author, title, illustrator, publisher, date of publication, title page, table of contents, index, and glossary. She shows pictures of the various parts of a book that she took with a digital camera. She gets students to tell her the meaning of the various parts. The media specialist gives out games to groups of two or more. The students arrange the squares on the floor or tables. Then the students try to match the squares - the parts of a book to the definition. This will reinforce what has been taught in the classroom. This is a good exercise in hands on learning. It will take less than 15 minutes from start to finish. |
