1. Show students several examples of digital stories from the websites mentioned below. 2. Discuss the purposes of digital storytelling and how to collect resources for them. 3. Practice taking digital photos at school to help students understand what makes a good pictures, and how to take pictures and basic lighting help. 4. Brainstorm with students and record on a flipchart( to post in room) ideas for what to take pictures of, songs, old photos they may have from home, and other ideas for resources. 5. Give each student a disposable digital camera to take home and bring back with photos for their stories. 6. Have students download pictures onto a CD and view them on the computers at school. Scan any old photos or other artwork students would like to include in their digital stories. 7. Put all photos and resources to be used on individual thumbdrives to be saved.Keep thumbdrives at school with teacher or porject director. 8. Teach students how to create a storyboard to plan or organize their digital stories before beginning to put them together. 9. Have students create their digital stories in the computer lab at your school. They can use WebBlender, i-movie, Pinnacle or other softward to create and edit their stories. Stories should be short: no longer than two or three minutes. |
