1) Students read The Important Book byMargaret Wise Brown and discus the patterning in the writing. The website writingfix.com has some good support activities for the patterning.
2) Students select an "object" that is important to them.
3) Students brainstorm the writing of their stanza about their improtant object. They do the writing and peer edit, checking for the patterning needed such as in the book.
4) Students then separate the writing on 3 different slides in power point.
5) Using the camera the students photograph their important object & that image is placed on the first slide or first part of writing.
6) Using the Palm Pilot Sketchy (or Nova Animator) program students draw their important object. That is hot synced and that file/image is placed on the 2nd page or part of writing.
7) For the 3rd or last of the writing the students will look for a image on the internet and place it on that slide.
8) If time and desired put transitions and music to slides.
