Field Trip Explorer:

I am currently a fourth grade teacher in Palmettto Florida. Each year the fourth grade goes on the following field trips

1. The City Waste Management Site
2. Planetarium
3. Historical Park
4. TBA

Students before these field trips will already have a TOOL FACTORY HOME-PAGE for their e-folio to document their learning.

On the above field trips students will use digital cameras to take photos and small clips of their FIELD TRIP EXPERIENCE. While on the field trip students will be taking notes of an outline provided by TOOL FACTORY that will help them remember why they took that certain picture or clip. Students will then come back to our tech lab, where they will upload pictures and clips. Students will use TOOL FACOTRY software and mics to narrate their field trip experience. Students will then make these into pod-casts to upload onto their e-folio TOOL FACTORY home-page.

Having students document their trips reinforces the LEARNING that is to happen during the trip. Students often think of field trips as an opportunity to get away from learning and just have fun. This is to reinforce that learning can be fun! I can't wait to get these projects up and running :)
