Using Specific Nouns Page Views: 294
|
I will write out a story on the dry-erase board. The story will include nouns that are very general in nature. The nouns will be underlined. I will read the story out loud to the class. Then I will ask the students to write the story, but instead of using my underlined general nouns, they will use a thesaurus to substitue specific nouns. At the end of the class I will ask a couple of students to share their stories with the class. After sharing time the class will discuss the effect that specific nouns have on writing. |
