Sounds at Starfall

Procedure:
Anticpatory set: Have a paper bag filled with uppercase and lowercase letter cards. Also have white drawing paper and crayons and markers ready. Explain to the children that they will pick a letter out of the bag and that will be their letter for the day. (Fold the white paper in half) Have the student identify the letter and sound (if they can) and then have them draw the letter on one half of the white paper. Then have the students go to the computer. Tell them that they will have to draw something that begins with that letter on the other half of the white paper. It must be something that they see on the computer. (You will have the website www.starfall.com) already up and ready. Click on ABC's)The students will click on their letter of the day and watch and particpate in the interactive activites on that letter and sound. Assessment:When the activites are completed, have the student go back to the table and draw something that they saw on the computer that begins with that letter and sound. Closure: Have the student say the name and sound of their letter. Have them tell what picture they drew that begins with their letter adn sound. Tell them to try and label the picture using inventive spelling.
