Planned By: Cheryl Tillman
Original Author: Cheryl Tillman, Pinson
Materials: Pencil and paper for each group(class).

Directions: Take students outside or to a large area to
work in.

Tell students: They are to come up with a game that has NEVER been invented. They have to include everybody in the game. Then they are to write the directions of exactly how to play. Then they must play the game exactly by the directions they came up with.

Debriefing: Ask students what were some of the areas of difficulty; was it with the game, inclusion of everybody, following the directions, or even being able to come to a conclusion of a game period?

Explain: The framers had to come up with a written plan of rules that would serve everybody in the 13 colonies, be fair and consistent and rules that everybody would ratify. It took them many months and cooperation and compromise between everyone to come up with a plan that they could live with. It has lasted over 200 years.
