A day in the life of a 4th/5th grader

Start by going over the digital camera basics with the students during computer lab. Explain to them to take pictures of their activities for one assigned day. They will need some help from their friends so that will also be in some of the photographs. Show them examples, such as pictures of car line if they arrive to school by car. Picture of their bus. Picture of their classroom, friends, favorite extra class, such as music, library, Pe. Then lunchroom, how they go home,etc. They will then download their photos to the computer and begin to sort them. After selecting a set number of photos they feel captured their typical day they will then begin to put them together in a power point presentation. They will also be able to save their photos and presentations on their network drive, as well as a cd to share at home with their family. This lesson will teach them the use of digital cameras, dowloading their photos, and power point presentations. All things that they will need in their high school, college, and working careers.
