Objective: Students write, star, produce, edit their own episode of the educational series Extr@ in Spanish.

Essential Question: How do you use what you've learned in Spanish to create a video episode of Extr@?

Procedures:
1. Students will have completed viewing the educational series Extr@ in Spanish.
2. Students will work in groups of 5 to write their own episode. Students must use the same characters from the video series. Students episodes must last approximately 8-10 minutes.
3. Students episodes must show characteristics of the Extr@ video series.
4. Students must speak entirely in Spanish.
5. Students should make their content appropriate to the series.
6. Once students have finished their rough drafts they are to begin memorizing their parts. They may use cue cards for prompting.
7. Students should script and plan out each scene.
8.Students will record their videos using the flip cameras.
9. Students will bring in their videos and edit. They will use moviemaker to add a title and credit slides. Students can add sound effects and or music.
10. Students will share videos with their classmates.
Comments
Students love seeing themselves on camera. This would be a great way for them to be creative with their spanish abilities as well as their video.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
These videos could be sent to the elementary school to share with introduce the younger students to Spanish. The flip phones could used be in many different areas.
Follow-Up
Students would share their videos with other Spanish students and their parents. These videos would be uploaded to the school website.
