Simple Machines Scavenger Hunt Page Views: 3965

After learning about the six types of simple machines, students will go on a scavenger hunt around the school to find an example of each.
1. Students will be broken into groups of 4-5 students. Each group will be equipped with a digital camera.
2. Groups will walk around the school to take pictures of examples of each of the simple machines.
3. Students will download the photos onto the computer.
4. Students will use powerpoint to create a presentation about the six simple machines. The powerpoints will include a title slide, 6 additional slides with a picture and description on each, and a concluding slide with a group picture.
5. Students will insert a picture onto each slide and write a short description including what the picture is of, what simple machine it is, where it was found, and who took the picture.
6. The slideshows will be printed out to create books and students will present the slideshows to the class.
