Apple Math

Share with the students that they are going to be placing apples on a tree.
Explain that the number on the tree trunk will be how many apples they will place on the tree.

Open the Kidspiration file (applecount).
Have the students notice that the apple symbol will be on the FIRST page of symbols.

Remind the students to click where they wish the apple to go before clicking on the apple or they may just drag the apple symbol over. If the apple is too large, show them by using the corner sizer buttons, they can change the size of the apple.

Have the students look carefully at the tree trunk # before placing the apples.

This kidspiration template uses all the space available on the worksheet so the students might need to scroll up/down, left/right to see all the trees.

Instruct the students that when they are finished, they need to double check their work before printing.

If working with a large group -- with a interactive white board -- invite students to come up and move the apples to the trees.
