8th graders are required to select an educational pathway before entering high school. This lesson plans simulates the effects their decisions can play in choosing a career and what high school pathway and the amount of post high school education is needed to meet the career requirements. 1.Students research and select a professional career. 2. Research the job responsibilities and starting salary schedule. 3. Research a company, institution, or job placement your career path will take you. 4. Research the educational requirements. 5. Research what appeals to you in choosing a college/university. 6. Research/select a college/university that can fulfill the education requirements. 7. Choose a college/university you will attend. 8. Research the entrance requirements for that school. 9. Plan you high school pathway that will fulfill the college entrance requirements. 10. Plan you 4 year high school pathway using spreadsheets. 11. Prepare a multimedia presentation that covers your educational life from high school to your career choice. |
