Goals
Students will develop new knowledge and an appreciation of the elements of Bollywood films. Students will learn and use elements and techniques of this unique film industry.
Objectives
Using Knowledge from Current Indian Culture (social organization, religion, government, language, arts and literature, customs and traditions, economy) students will be asked to compare and contrast Bollywood with Hollywood.
Groups will collaboratively create two fictional Indian characters describing in detail at least three cultural aspects as they apply to those characters and create a captivating plot and script for one scene which will incorporate modern Indian culture and Bollywood components (at least one dance scene must be included). Collaboratively, groups of students will select a scene or story to script, work together to design and craft characters and scenery, narrate a story, give character appropriate voices, select or create appropriate music, and choreograph sound effects and movement.

Student Instructions
Background:
We have spent a great amount of time on the Indian Film Industry and you should have a firm grasp on what Bollywood is.
I need to know how well you have learned this material, that does mean a project. You will create a Bollywood Film scene based on at least three aspects of modern Indian Culture
Task: You will individually compare and contrast Western films in Hollywood with Bollywood films, and identify the similarities and differences on a Venn Diagram.
Groups will collaboratively create two fictional Indian characters describing in detail at least three cultural aspects as they apply to those characters
Groups will collaboratively create a captivating plot and script for one scene which will incorporate modern Indian culture and Bollywood components (at least one dance scene must be included).
Students will videotape and present their films.
