Materials: Fascinating Fibonacci, Mystery and Magic in Numbers and Growing Patterns:Fibonacci Numbers in Nature to be used as Read-Alouds and reference materials
Grouping: groups of 1-4 students
Plan: Students will complete this activity after reading about Fibonacci and his magical numbers. They will then walk and take public transportation to our local park to find evidence of the numbers. Students will be provided with sufficient time to conduct their investigations and to photograph ( or sketch, if possible) their observations. Students will be advised and guided in finding good specimens, such as, sunflowers,daisies, etc.
rather than just doing a report, students will then put their photographs in an exhibit to be shared with the other grades in school. |

If more digital cameras were available, fewer disposable cameras will be needed for the students. Students will share cameras to capture their observations |
