Procedures:
1. I will teach a lesson on persuasive writing techniques. 2. Students will be asked to write their parents a letter persuading them that they need a new pair of sneakers. 3. Students will share these with the class.
4. We will vote on the top three letters that had the best persuasive techniques.
5. Students will then be given the guidelines for their persuasive flip camera project.
Guidelines:
*Students need to choose a commercial product such as: toothpaste, shampoo, a piece of equipment used in sports, clothing, etc...
*They then have to make the product out of materials from home, or they may use the actual product but willo have to cover it with their original product name and label.
* Students may work in pairs using flip cameras to video each other's commercials.
* Once all commercials have been videotaped, we will let each person show their commercial on the promethean board.
*Students will vote on the top three commercials that were the most effective in persuading the public to buy their product. |
