The students will perform the limerick as a round.
The students will perform the limerick in various combinations of performances mentioned above, as directed by the students.
The students will analyze the rhyming pattern of limericks (AABBA)
The students will then compose their own limericks and present them to the class.
These activities will then be used along with a lesson plan from Quaver's Marvelous World of Music regarding 6/8 meter.
When the students compose a limerick, they are composing in 6/8 time.
Students will notate the rhythm of the limerick introduced to them by the teacher and also notate the rhythm of their own compositions.
The Interactive slide that allows students to click and drag measures of quarter, dotted quarter, and eighth notes onto the music staff, will help teach students meter and notation. |
