Lesson Plan: PTO Persuasive Video Lesson Plan By: Carol Blake Grades - 4 and up
Does your school have a PTO? Does your class have a project that needs funded? A great way to meet this need is to have students create a video that persuades PTO to meet the classroom needs.
Did you know that bees pollinate ⅓ of our world food supply? Recently, my students and I have been studying pollinators and the disappearance of bees and other pollinators. My students further researched this, and found that by planting wildflowers, we can increase the presences of bees in the area. This got the students excited! More research led to Pinterest, which led to an article on Making Seed Bombs. (a drop and grow seed packet that grows without actual planting) The only thing lacking was the funding, therefore, why not create a persuasive video convincing PTO to fund this need? The results….IT WORKED! PTO agreed to fund our Seed Bomb Project!
Students were able to creatively use technology, creativity, and the techniques of persuasive writing to get required funding. View our video
