This lesson will run at least three days. Students will utilize google classroom to find reference sites, instructions, and to turn in their assignments. They will use the EPA and NASA websites to find facts and information on the effects of climate change on the environment. The first day they will compile 3 main facts as well as 2-3 pictures into a google doc to be used later. Then they will use those facts to write a persuasive paragraph to inform the readers on the danger of climate change. On the second day they will use the compiled information and their persuasive argument to create a persuasive climate change poster on piktochart.com. The requirements for the poster include: their name, a title, 3 facts, their persuasive argument, 2-3 pictures, and their references. Piktochart allows students creative freedom in how they display their information and their background choices. I would ask that students be be as creative as possible on these poster. After the posters have been created my students will present these posters to the 9th grade Earth Science classes to hopefully pique the underclassmen interest in environmental issues. |
