Students are going to show how they reason abstractly and quantitatively through identifying, showing, and explaining how quantities are related in a problem. Students will log onto the School Districts wifi with their personal password information and then log into Google Classroom with their personal account. Students will then answer a Google Form using a Chromebrook or Tablet. The lesson plan will allow students to use appropriate tools strategically by showing their knowledge of decimal grids and bar diagrams using Google Docs. Then they could submit that via Google Classroom.
Everyday during my two math blocks, I teach about a lesson every two days whole class for about 10-15 minutes. During those two days, students will "rotate" through stations (during a 45 minute perioed) including a group with me, using chromebooks and/ or tablets to log onto Think Through Math, Khan Academy, Google Classroom and other websites to practice the taught skill or for skill review, independent work, and cooperative work. After the group work, I will conclude the class with a 10 minute review.

Additional chromebooks for a classroom of 30+ students would be wonderful!!! |
Cross-Curriculum Ideas |
I can use the Chromebooks so students can access Science videos, create Google Slides and Prezi presentations. |
Follow-Up |
The chromebooks would be used everyday during the school year in both sections of math and science for 6th grade. |
