During Literacy stations, students will work with a partner to create a robot that can move to spell out a word.

Activity Steps:
Step 1: With a partner, the student will work together to create a robot using Cubelets that can move.

Step 2: Lay out cards with the letters of the alphabet on the ground. These cards don't need to be in a specific order, but order may help locate the correct letter faster.

Step 3: One student tells the other student the spelling word that he or she needs to spell out using the Cubelet robot.

Step 4: The student moves the Cubelet robot to the correct alphabet card to spell the word correctly.

Step 5: Each student takes turns moving the robot to the alphabet cards to spell words.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This activity could also be done in Math. Students can create a robot using Cubelets to practice math facts. One student can call out an equation like 5+5. The other student would move the robot to the 10 card.
