Students in 4th and 5th grade can also choose to be in Chorus or Recorder Club, two performing ensembles. I sign up for every technology class I can to make sure that my lesson plans incorporate the latest technologies available to me, to appeal to various different types of learners. My students sing, play instruments, create music, dance, perform, learn, and have a great time in doing so! On Fridays, I co-teach a pilot program called "Musical Guidance" with our fabulous Guidance Counselor. We work as a team to promote Anti-Bullying and conflict resolution strategies, social skills, and respect amongst all students. At my school, we also host the SSCIP program, which accommodates student in our county with Autism. My students are very talented, appreciative, and most of all inspiring!

My Philosophy:
I believe that every student will benefit from a strong, solid, and enjoyable music program. It is essential in building skills such as teamwork, creativity, problem solving, and time-management. Many students who might not excel in other core subjects, find their strength in music. It can improve their self-esteem and self-worth, make them feel accepted and part of a group, and inspire them to come to school. I want my students to be proud of our music program, and strive to inspire my students to maintain a life-long love for music.
