Class Description:
I teach Chemistry 1-2 and Chemistry Honors. This year (2010-2011) I also have a Chemistry class for students who have low math skills, making it my most challenging class to teach! I need as many visual and hands-on options as possible to teach the concepts and skills of Chemistry.

We are also looking for small video cameras (like the flip) that we can use to make tutorials and videos that explain chem concepts: student designed and created.
My Philosophy:
Chemistry is challenging, but can be very rewarding for students as they rise to the challenge! I strive to make it interesting, unpredictable (surprise!) and useful for everyday life.

About Me:
This year (2010-2011) is my third year teaching Chemistry at Leland High School. I am finishing my teaching credential in the Spring of 2011 at Santa Clara University.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach Chemistry with the goal of all students learning how to solve problems and work through challenges. Even if a student never takes a science class in college, they will learn how to systematically approach and solve problems in all areas of academics and life.
