I have 25 wonderful third graders who smile everyday! I teach at a low-income school and as you can imagine these students have more challenges in their lives than any child should ever have to face. Learning is hard for many of my students and I am doing all I can to help them succeed. I have a very diverse classroom with many languages, cultures, and academic level. I have many students still learning English, students on Individual Education Plans, and students on 504plans. These kids face challenges but I know they can be successful!
Position:
3rd grade teacher
Needs:
Technology is going to help me engage and motivate my students in all academic areas.
My Philosophy:
A challenge is not an excuse and it is my job to show a child the difference. I believe a child just needs someone to believe in them and they will surprise everyone of what they are capable of.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to motivate children to believe in themselves. I teach to inspire them. I teach to encourage them. I teach to insure that children hear from at least one person that they can make their dreams come true regardless of the poverty, trauma, and other challenges they may face in their lives. I teach because I get to make a difference in the lives of at least 25 children every year. I teach because if I can inspire a child to believe in themselves, they will inspire others.
